About Phi Alpha Kappa

OUR HISTORY

The Phi Alpha Kappa fraternity was founded & established in 2024 by President Davin Johnson & Vice President Joey Van Allen with the help of the Director of Campus Life Helene Hale. It is based at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The fraternity is non-affiliated and is not part of any national fraternity. Our logo consists of a Cross with a depiction of Jesus being crucified, which represents our devotion to our relationship with Christ & Christian faith. A Golden Eagle, which represents Cornerstone University. A book, which represents our strive for academic excellence. With all of those encircled within olive branches, which symbolizes peace, reconciliation, and excellence in all areas. Our colors are black which was simply chosen by the President, and Gold, which represents our connection with the Cornerstone community. As the first fraternity in Cornerstone University history we aim to make a long awaited change in our community, we aim to create a well connected, diversified, Christian based brotherhood in hopes to attract more students, better the community internally and externally, and help create an environment for students who are looking for a family. Everything we do at Phi Alpha Kappa is for the glory of God and for the betterment of Cornerstone.

OUR VISION & GOALS

Our vision at Phi Alpha Kappa is to be a Christ-centered fraternity that raises up the next generation of ethical and moral men who will change the world and their communities for God's glory. We hope to achieve this by pursuing the following goals.

Spiritual Development: Through consistent Bible study, prayer, worship, and accountability, we are dedicated to strengthening our relationship with Jesus Christ. We will become more capable disciples who can effectively serve others as we deepen our faith.

Brotherly Love: Our goal is to establish an unbreakable Christian fellowship in which members challenge, support, and encourage one another to lead moral lives. We will genuinely become companions and hold each other accountable to our shared values through mentoring.

Academic Excellence: We will encourage one another to succeed academically because we understand that getting an excellent education is our main goal at Cornerstone University. Pursuing wisdom and knowledge will help us develop into well-rounded, powerful leaders.

Servant Leadership: We will actively look for ways to serve the needs of our campus and the surrounding community, inspired by Christ's model of humble service. We seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus via outreach programs, volunteer work, or simple acts of kindness.

Building a Legacy: We will work to leave a lasting legacy that encourages Phi Alpha Kappa members to continue our mission in the future. We will make sure that our fraternity survives and has an impact by setting an example of godly character and passing down our traditions.

We are confident that Phi Alpha Kappa will become a positive influence on our campus and in the wider community by persistently pursuing these objectives.
